Mobile USOS UwB is the official mobile application of the University of Bialystok, Świerkowa 20B, 15-328 Białystok.
The app is intended for members of the academic community of the University of Bialystok (hereinafter referred to as "University"), that is for its employees and students ("Users").
Mobile USOS UwB allows the Users to access selected functions of the USOS student information systems platform with mobile devices. Data and features accessible by the Users via the app reflect the actual individual access rights of the Users in the University’s student information systems.
The right to process the personal data of the Users by the University is based on the existing relationships between the University and its students and employees as determined by the corresponding laws, and on individual extended consents given by the Users.
In order to use the app the User must have a valid student or employee account in the University information systems (so called CAS account) - logging in (authentication) with login and password is required.
During the first login the User has to explicitly grant the app access rights to his or her data in the University’s student information systems. The transmission of data over the network, including authentication, is encrypted and takes place directly between the user’s mobile device and the university systems with no third parties involved.
Access rights to the resources of the mobile device are used solely for the purpose of making the application work: „Calendar” - to write records into a personal calendar, „Photos/Multimedia/Files” - to keep a local buffer for settings and temporary data (cache), „Other” - to access Internet and to interact with Google Maps. The University does not in any way attempt to access users’ data in their mobile devices nor does it provide access to third parties. Users receive notifications from the University. The notifications can be disabled in the Android system settings on per-application basis. The steps needed may differ between different versions of Android.
When enabled during the installation process or in the settings, the app sends diagnostic data in the case of serious malfunction or crash. The data is not attached to a specific user and contains the model number, Android version and technical details of the error. The data is used solely for the continual improvement of the application.
We would like to remind you about important resources about data safety available for students and employees on the web pages of the University of Bialystok: http://uwb.edu.pl/ochrona-danych-osobowych
