Efekty uczenia się:

KP7_WG1 – Knows the types of organic reactions and is able to discuss and represent both basic and complex organic reaction mechanisms graphically, in accordance with the current state of knowledge.

KP7_WG2 – Possesses advanced knowledge in organic chemistry, enabling them to discuss the structure of organic compounds (including their spatial structure), their physical and chemical properties, and explain reaction mechanisms. Knows methods for the synthesis and identification of organic compounds.

verification: written and/or oral exam, discussion during seminar-style lecture.

Metody i kryteria oceniania:

The student is eligible to take the exam after successfully completing the laboratory classes. Attendance at lectures is a mandatory requirement for taking the exam.

Assessment criteria according to the approved University of Białystok Study Regulations.

The deadline and method for achieving learning outcomes for lectures the student missed will be agreed upon with the lecturer.

2. Representation and Modeling of the Structure of Organic Compounds and Bonds

3. Main Types of Reaction Mechanisms and Reactive Species (Arrow Formalism)

a) Ionic, Radical, Pericyclic

b) Organometallic Reactions: Heck, Suzuki, etc.

c) Others

d) Reactive Species in Organic Chemistry: Radicals, Carbocations, Carbanions, etc.

4. Reactivity and Selectivity Control in Reactions

a) Thermodynamic Acidity (Super Bases and Acids) and Kinetic (Nucleophiles and Electrophiles)

b) Electronegativity and Oxidation States (and Hydration)

c) Strategies for Selectivity Control, Types of Selectivity, Models, Principles, Rules – e.g., C-H

d) Stereoelectronic and Steric Control of Reaction Pathways: HOMO, LUMO, SOMO

e) LFERs (including the Hammett Equation) + SPR/SAR

5. Stereochemical Description of Organic Compounds and Reactions
