It is a general course on criminology. It presents the origins of criminology in the world and in Poland, the basic terminology in this fields. It focuses in three divisions of criminology: etiology, phenomenology and prevention. The course refers to etiology analyzing the causes of criminality, presenting also the criminological theories. It presents the phenomenon of criminality in Poland and in Europe, referring to the criminological research methods. Last part concerns the institutional and social aspects of crime prevention. |
Pełny opis: |
Profile of studies - general academic. Form of study - stacionary. Course type - optional. Field and discipline of science - social sciences and legal sciences. Prerequisites - Criminal law. Number of didactic hours divided into forms of conducting classes - 15 hours of seminar (6h of e-learning). Didactic methods - seminar, consultations, e-learning ECTS points - 3. Student workload balance - participation in classes 15 hours (6 hours e-learning) preparation for classes and exam 37,5 hours, participation in consultations related to classes 28,5 hours. Total: 75 hours, corresponding to 3 ECTS credits. Quantitative indicators - student workload related to activities requiring a teacher's direct participation of 37,5 hours, which corresponds to 1,5 ECTS credits, and student workload that does not require direct teacher participation 37,5 hours, which corresponds to 1,5 ECTS credits. |

KNOWLEDGE, graduate: - has in-depth knowledge of the principles and institutions of criminal law, civil law, administrative law, constitutional law, and judicial and administrative procedures - KA7_WG3; - knows and understands the terminology specific to the various disciplines of law - KA7_WK3; SKILLS, the graduate: - is able to correctly interpret and explain the meanings of specific legal norms and mutual relations between these norms within a specific field of law - KA7_UW1; - moves efficiently in the system of Polish law, uses the norms of individual fields of law to independently solve specific problems; depending on his/her own interests (selected subjects of specialization), he/she has expanded skills to solve complex practical problems within a specific field of law - KA7_UO1; SOCIAL COMPETENCES, the graduate: - is able to independently and critically supplement knowledge and skills, extended by the interdisciplinary dimension - KA7_KK2; |
Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
Grade scale from 2 to 5. The final grade consists of: - preparation of Powerpoint presentation on topic given by teacher and its oral presentation Completion of e-learning tasks is mandatory. Failure to complete the e-learning decreases the final grade by 0.5 grade. Activity in class may increase the grade by 0.5 grade. Depending on the regulations, the final examination may be conducted using electronic means of communication. |
