Założenia (opisowo):

The course "Comparative Law" is dedicated to students who wish to conduct research in comparing different aspects of law: political context, historical context, regulations, importance of comparative elements in judgments and in the jurisprudence. The course will help to understand the importance of comparative studies in the field of law. The course will also present theory and methods of making comparative legal studies.

We will discuss the notion of comparative law, the history of comparative legal studies, the methods of making comparative legal studies. We will also present the results of comparative legal studies in certain fields of law. Except that we will present the importance of comparative studies for the process of harmonisation of law in the European Union.

K_W03 - has deepened knowledge in the field of principles and institutions of comparative law;

K_W08 - student knows and understands the terminology in the field of comparative law;

K_U01 - student is able to explain and interprete the meaning of legal norms and the relations between these norms in the field of comparative law;

K_U05 - student is able to operate freely, is self-efficent in solving problems in the field of comparative law and has widened skills in solving complicated issues of comparative law;

K_K06 - student can be self-efficient in and critical in gaining knowledge and skills about comparative law, in interdisciplinary context.

Metody i kryteria oceniania:

Presence during classes. Presentations on several topics. Final paper to demonstrate the way and the purpose of using comparative method in legal studies.
