Assessment methods and assessment criteria:	(in Polish) Przedmiot kończy się przedstawieniem prezentacji z zakresu tematyki kursu oraz krótkim testem obejmującym sprawności słuchania i znajomość słownictwa, które pojawiło się w materiałach używanych w trakcie kursu. Próg zaliczenie testu to 55% Dozwolona jest jedna nieobecność w trakcie kursu. Aktywność w trakcie zajęć wpłynie na podniesienie oceny końcowej. Brak przygotowania do zajęć oraz brak materiałów wysyłanych przez wykładowcę wpłynie na obniżenie oceny końcowej.

Short description:	(in Polish) The Art of Healing: Medicine in the Past and Present Due to the increasing popularity of Medical English in the contemporary world, it is not uncommon to come across medical jargon embedded in journal articles or TV series. The course will focus on medicine in the past (health and healing in ancient Egypt, wonder cures of the ancient world, surprising facts about the history of medicine) and present medical issues (e.g. signs and symptoms, placebo and nocebo effects, first aid). It will also delve into a healthy lifestyle (prevention is better than cure: medicinal cookery - the pharmacy in our food, nutrition, food patterns based on culture and customs).
