  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;

Short description:

The subject aims to broaden, consolidate and improve all language skills. Students develop a correct style of oral and written expression. They become familiar with the stylistics of academic texts, become sensitive to linguistic and cultural divergences, prepare for independent translation of short press and applied texts, as well as improve their skills of speaking in a debate (argumentation, construction of an argumentative statement).

7. The student understands and manages the difficulties and specificity of the interpreter's work. K_K06 Verification methods: oral or written pass; control test; projects and practical exercises; presentation; evaluation of activity during classes; evaluation of the effects of teamwork.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Stylistic exercises, oral statements, translation of texts. Form of assessment: credit. Active student participation in classes is required to get a credit.

During the course, students prepare oral presentations on topics of their choice modelled on the TED (Technology, Entartainment, Design) presentations. Speeches (12-20 min.) may not be read. Each presentation is followed by a discussion culminating in a written summary.
