Skrócony opis:

The aim of the course is to familiarise students with the key issue of education - knowledge as an effect of educational institutions (with emphasis on the hidden curriculum). The analyses to be presented will not only focus on the phenomenon itself, but will also aim to explain it, which involves identifying the factors that cause such and not other effects to be realised. These will be identified using micro, meso and macro scales of sociological insight.

This type of approach is not only intended to provide the students with a proper cognitive perspective, but also to contribute to arousing their sociological imagination - which should be a priority in the first year of studies.

Pełny opis:

The aim of training in the sociology of education is to familiarise course participants with the key terminology of this discipline, the areas of its main interest and exploration, the repertoire of developed explanations of processes and phenomena occurring in upbringing, educational and educational environments, sociological perspectives as well as the possibilities of applying sociological interpretative models in the analysis, interpretation and solution of currently observable problems in the sphere of practical educational activity.
