The following learning outcomes will be achieved as a result of the course: KP7_WG1, KP7_WG2, KP7_UW6 and KP7_KO2. Means of verification of the achieved learning outcomes: knowledge test after the exercise, evaluation of progress during the class, evaluation of reports from the exercises.

The prerequisite for receiving credit for the laboratory is attendance in class, completion of all scheduled in-program exercises, submission of written reports, and theoretical credit for all exercises included in the program in oral or written form.

Making up for absences should be done after arranging a date with the instructor.

1. Spectrophotometric determination of caffeine in coffee and energy drinks (focused on: pretreatment of beverages before determination, calibration).

2. Determination of iron in natural waters by atomic absorption spectrometry after initial enrichment by solid phase extraction technique (focused on sampling water samples, analyte preconcentration on SPE column, novel sorbents, determination by FAAS).

3. HS-SPME/GC-MS analysis of volatile organic compounds released into the atmosphere by plants.

4. Determination of chloride ions in natural waters with the use of ion-selective chloride electrode (sampling of surface water, determination).

5. Chromatographic analysis of writing and printing inks.

6. Application of high-performance liquid chromatography for determination of chlorogenic acid in pharmaceutical preparations containing artichoke leaf extract.
