Założenia (opisowo): | The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the current state of knowledge about the reactions of the various types (radical, ionic, pericyclic, organometallic) taking into account their stereochemical course and to show the relationship between the structure and reactivity of organic compounds. |
Skrócony opis: |
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the current state of knowledge about the reactions of the various types (radical, ionic, pericyclic, organometallic) taking into account their stereochemical course and to show the relationship between the structure and reactivity of organic compounds. |
Pełny opis: |
The lecture covers the following content: Stereochemistry (topicality, prochirality, prostereoisomerism, selectivity and specificity of the reaction, enantiomeric excess and diastereomeric, stereoisomerism of molecules without stereogenic centres). Principles of presenting the mechanisms of organic reactions. Radical reactions (chain radical substitution, addition, fragmentation (Hunsdiecker reaction), non-chain radical reactions (Birch reduction, reduction of carbonyl compounds, reactions: pinacol, McMurry, acylin condensation). Polar reaction (nucleophilic and electrophilic: mechanism and stereochemistry). Selected pericyclic reactions. Organometallic compounds and their application in organic synthesis. Laboratory exercises are designed to familiarize the student with various synthesis techniques, purification methods, and organic compound identification methods (1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR). |

Efekty uczenia się: |
A student knows the types of organic reactions and can discuss and graphically present the basic and complex reaction mechanisms. (KP7 WG1) He/She has extensive knowledge in the field of organic chemistry, allowing to discuss the structure of organic compounds (including their spatial structure) and their physical and chemical properties. He/she knows the methods of synthesis and identification of organic compounds. A student can determine the relationship between the structure and reactivity of organic compounds. Has knowledge and skills in the field of techniques used for synthesis, purification (including column chromatography, DFC, vacuum distillation), and spectroscopic identification of organic compounds (1 H NMR, 13 C NMR, IR). (KP7 WG2) A student mastered the manual skills necessary in laboratory work; he/she learned how to plan and perform syntheses (including multi-step syntheses) of the organic compounds, draw conclusions from the conducted experiments and present the results in the form of a written report. A student mastered the basic skill of interpretation of IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectra. (KP7 UW6) A student can work in a group as well as independently. He/she knows and applies the rules of safe use of chemical reagents and solvents, and the segregation and utilization of chemical waste (KP7 K02). |
