Prerequisites (description): | The aim of the course is to show the ideas and themes of Christian thought in contemporary literature and film. The lecture is to show the role and significance of Christian spiritual foundations visible not only in the sphere of sacrum, but also in contemporary literary works and cinema productions. The search for Christian ideas will be carried out in the works of Tolkien, Rowling, Bułhakowa, Lewis, the Wachowski brothers, Kusturica and others. Presentation of the spectrum of dependencies between contemporary concepts of literary and film art and Christian spirituality will allow us to understand the universalism of the Christian way. |

The student understands the mechanisms of culture-forming, the influence of religion on social and political life of the community - evaluation work. The student knows the basic factors uniting society - economic, ethnic, cultural, political and religious ties - evaluation work. The student is able to properly interpret historical and contemporary events - evaluation work. The student has the ability to properly assess historical events in the context of the norms of the era - the final work. The student is able to correctly form assessments and comments of events - a final work. The student can show examples of the influence of Christianity on the development of Europe - the final work. |
