Introduction to scientific writing for ‘prestigious’ international journals: - identifying students' expectations, concerns, and plans; - defining the term ‘academic writing’; - explaining how academic writing differs from other kinds of writing; - which is more important: rules for academic writing or rules for doing research?; - mapping the most prestigious journals for publication in your field. 2. Overview of structuring an article: - identifying and describing types of scientific papers; - article structure: introduction, literature review, methodology, results, discussion; and conclusion, limitations, and further research 3. Unlocking academic writing: developing students' practical skills in writing scientific papers in English. |
