  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;

Short description:

Presentation and introducing students to basic knowledge on public aspect of banking law and central banking, specific role, functions and legal status of the central bank within the state system and banking system. These aspect will be concerned the National Bank of Poland, the European Central Bank and the Federal Reserve System (FED).

Field and discipline of science: social sciences and legal sciences.

Year of study/sem.: IV year / 8 sem.

Preliminary requirements: knowledge of the constitutional law, law of the European Union, theory of public finance and financial law

Classes hours: 16 (lectures)

Methods of teaching: lecture, consultations.

ECTS: 4

Student's work balance (in hours): classes - 16, preparation for classes and credit - 50, consultations - 34. Total: 100 hours (4 ECTS).

Indicators: student's work with participation of the teacher - 50 hours (2 ECTS), student's work without participation of the teacher - 50 hours (2 ECTS).

- has in-depth knowledge of the principles and institutions in the field of public banking law, including EU law and European System of Central Banks - K_W03;

- knows and understands the terminology specific to public banking law (including EU law) - K_W08.

- is able to correctly interpret and explain the meaning of specific legal norms and the mutual relations between these norms within public banking law and financial law (including EU law) - K_U01;

- has extended skills to solve practical problems in the field of public banking law - K_U05.

Social competences, graduate:

- is able to independently and critically supplement knowledge and skills in the field of public banking law (including EU law), extended by the interdisciplinary dimension - K_K06.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Attendance at lectures and credit test for grade.

Depending on the epidemic situation, the credit may be given by electronic communication.
