The aim of the course is to provide information regarding need of special protection of a child. It concentrates on showing the gap between legal provisions and practice. It concentrates on legal international protection of the rights and freedoms of a child and also issue of lack of effectiveness of protection and question about effects of legal instruments provided.

The aim of the course is to provide an overview of the European Union Law. The course will take a theoretical-practical approach, providing students with the opportunity to examine EU legal texts and official documents as well as EU case law. Special attention will be put on the relation between EU law and national legal systems. Apart from that issue students will be also given knowledge in areas such as EU competences, conditions for membership in the EU (and withdrawal from the Union), EU institutional structure and decision-making as well as legal protection in the Union

European Family Law classes will teach students about different aspects of family law in Europe. First, the regulations on family law in different countries will be discussed. Then we will discuss EU regulations on family law. Since family law is in general excluded from EU regulation, we will identify the fields where it appears - regadless general rule. Attention will also be paid to the question of conflict of law in different countries, as well as to the role of the ECJ and the ECHR. The family law conventions of Council of Europe will be also discussed. Legal initiatives about the steps to convergate family law in the European states will be demonstrated.

Finally, the students will try to discuss the possible future of family law in Europe. The crucial question is: is there a need to move forward the EU regulations on family law?

The course provides knowledge about legal national and international protection of peoples’ rights and freedoms and question about effects of legal instruments introduction.

The aim of the course is to show how the international legal systems of protection are built. Students are introduced to the main sources of protection in universal and regional systems, the catalogues of freedoms and rights and to the means of control. But first they have a possibility to hear about the philosophical roots of human rights and about the conversion from the idea to the element of national constitutional laws and then to the international legal systems.

First, the regulations on family law in different countries will be discussed. Then we will discuss EU and another countries regulations on family law. This course will cover the International Labor Organization’s (ILO) labor standards and enforcement procedures; global union-management Relations and unions’ attempts to organize workers on an international level; international employee data protection and international employer codes of conduct/corporate social responsibility; and international labor standards and sustainable development- labor side agreements and free trade treaties, transparency laws and minimum standards for corporate supply chains.

Upon the successful completion of this course, students should gain an understanding of the basic concepts of international labor law on both a theoretical and practical level.

The objective of this course is to provide a better understanding of different ADR methods and negotiation styles utilized in Europe as well as in the U.S.

The class has a both theoretical and practical angle as they learn how to present a mediators monologue or how to draw up the terms of reference in an arbitration procedure.

The student is preparred to conduct an effective negotiation and mediation. The student understand the differences between ADR methods and knows how to apply them in the realm of law. Moreover the student understands the practicalities of how to be an effective negotiator/mediator as well as an effective arbitrator.
