Crime and Delinquency

The aim of the course is to analyse the etiology, phenomenon and prevention of selected types of crime, such as organised crime, cybercrime, sport-related crime or terrorist crime. These issues will be complemented by an analysis of social pathologies related to crime. The classes will refer mainly to crime in Poland.

The number of teaching hours divided into forms of conducting classes - 30 hours of the seminar.

Student workload balance - participation in classes 30 hours, preparation for classes and exam 75 hours, participation in consultations related to classes 45 hours. Total: 150 hours, corresponding to 6 ECTS credits

Quantitative indicators - student workload related to activities requiring the teacher's direct participation 75 hours, which corresponds to 3 ECTS points, and student workload that does not require direct teacher participation 75 hours, which corresponds to 3 ECTS points.

KP7_UO1 - fluently navigates the Polish law system, uses individual norms and areas of law to pursue independently solving specific problems; depending on students own interests (selected specialization subjects) and has advanced skills wich alllows to solve complex practical problems in the specific fields of law,

SOCIAL COMPETENCES, the graduate is ready to:

KP7_KK2 - independently and critically supplement knowledge and skills, enhanced by an interdisciplinary dimension.

Attendance at classes and preparation of a presentation on a given topic are prerequisites for passing the course.

1 absence from classes per semester is permissible, the remaining ones must be made up during the consultations after the reason for the absence has disappeared.

Depending on applicable regulations, the examination may be conducted remotely.
